Searching for Evil
- Why would someone set up a website for a non-existent bank?
- What would be the point of advertising a pyramid scheme as a pyramid scheme?
- Who’s responsible for 50% of phishing attempts world-wide?
Just time for a quick pointer to “Searching for Evil”: Ross Anderson’s tech talk about phishing, spam, and scams on the internet. I had the pleasure of seeing an earlier presentation of this talk (with Richard Clayton) in London earlier this month and can highly recommend it.
One thing I found particularly interesting — though not the main point of the presentation — was a discussion about the best way to organise an attack-resistant graph of connected nodes (turns out it’s a covert cell structure), and the best way to attack such a network.
