Random things I learnt while in the US
Five random things I learnt while I was recently in the US:
- Flashing red stoplights mean the same thing as a regular stop sign.
- Light switches are backwards: up is on, down is off.
- Verizon is pronounced [vəˈɹaɪzən], and not, as the comparison to Verisign might suggest, ‘vary-zon’.
- Radio station quality is not as bad as I was lead to believe.
- It’s easy to remember to drive on the right side of the road. It’s much more difficult to remember to stay on the left side of the lane.
